A high-quality double airbed is one of the most cost-effective ways to ensure a comfortable sleep on the campsite, providing ample space without taking up too much room in your car boot.

Camping Air Mattress Technical Features & Materials

Coil-Beam Construction: Internal support structures distribute weight evenly across the double camping air mattress, preventing both sleepers from rolling into the middle during the night.
Flocked Tops: A soft, brushed velour surface prevents your sleeping bags from sliding around and adds a minor layer of insulation against the cold PVC.
Dual-Seal Valves: High-quality double airbeds feature anti-leak, one-way valves that lock air in securely and make inflation and deflation significantly faster.

Choosing the Right Double Airbed

For quick weekend getaways: A standard manual-inflation double air mattress is lightweight, easy to pack, and highly affordable for occasional summer trips.
For extended family camping: Look for the best double airbeds that sit higher off the ground.

Expert Tip: To protect your airbed from sharp stones hidden under the groundsheet and to add crucial insulation, always place a foam roll mat underneath the mattress.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my airbed deflate overnight?

More often than not, it isn't a puncture. Cold nighttime air causes the trapped air inside the mattress to condense and shrink, making the bed feel soft and deflated by morning. Simply top it up with a few quick pumps of air before you go to sleep the next night.

How to stop an airbed squeaking?

The squeaking is usually caused by the PVC bottom rubbing against your tent's sewn-in groundsheet. Placing a blanket or a thin foam mat between the airbed and the floor will silence the friction and stop the noise.

How do I find a slow leak?

If you suspect a genuine puncture, wipe the inflated bed with a mildly soapy sponge; escaping air will form visible bubbles. Dry the area completely before applying a PVC repair patch.
