You want to ensure kids’ footwear has enough grip, support, and weather protection to keep them safe and comfortable. Our comprehensive collection spans all seasons, ensuring dry feet whether they are hiking, splashing, or sledging.

Key Features to Consider:

Waterproof Protection: Our kids' wellies are completely waterproof for deep puddles, while our technical walking boots feature breathable waterproof membranes to keep feet dry without trapping sweat.

Choosing the Right Footwear:

For Rugged Trails: Choose structured, lace-up kids' walking boots with dedicated ankle support and deep treads to handle loose rock and mud securely.
For Wet Days & Campsites: A reliable pair of wellies is essential for easy slip-on protection when the ground turns to sludge.
For Winter Weather: Opt for insulated snow boots to handle freezing temperatures, slush, and ski holidays.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do kids need walking boots?

If you are sticking to flat, paved paths, wellies or sturdy trainers might suffice. However, as soon as you step onto uneven ground, mud, or wet rock, dedicated lace-up walking boots are essential. They provide the necessary grip and ankle support to prevent slips, sprains, and trail fatigue.

Are wellies good for walking?

Wellies are fantastic for short, muddy walks, jumping in puddles, and general campsite wear. However, for long hikes over uneven terrain, they lack the ankle support, breathability, and secure fit of a proper lace-up walking boot, which can lead to blisters and foot fatigue.

How to measure kids' feet for hiking boots?

Have them stand on a piece of paper wearing their thick hiking socks. Trace around the foot and measure the distance from the heel to the longest toe. Always use the measurement of the larger foot and ensure there is about a thumb's width of space at the front of the boot to prevent toe-banging on descents.
