Why choose a ladies’ down jacket?

Down insulation, made from natural feathers, traps body heat while allowing breathability, keeping you warm without bulk so you can move freely. Find options made with water-resistant fabrics to protect you from unexpected rain or snow and durable finishes that can withstand rugged terrains so you can reach for the jacket time and time again. Our selection includes jackets with adjustable hoods, zip pockets, and cuffs, which add convenience and functionality. Whether layering for a winter expedition or enjoying a brisk evening walk, these jackets offer the perfect balance of comfort and practicality.

Choosing a down jacket fill power

Down jackets are an excellent investment as they last three times longer than synthetic alternatives. However, down loses its insulating properties when wet, making it ideal for cold, dry conditions. For wet weather, you may consider layering with a water-resistant shell.

The quality of a down jacket is largely determined by its fill power, which measures the loft of the down. A higher fill power means greater insulation for less weight and the jacket will compress more easily to pack into a backpack. Jackets with a fill power between 500 and 600 are ideal for everyday commuting. In contrast, a jacket with 700+ fill power is better suited for mountain treks or extreme cold.
